About
Yasmina Nuny is a Bissau-Guinean writer and poet with degrees in Political Economy and African Studies. She has articles published in Black Ballad and EuroNews and has performed at events like Sofar Sounds and TEDxYouth Brum. Her debut collection Anos Ku Ta Manda was published in 2019 with Verve Poetry Press.
Yasmina returned to Guinea-Bissau after her studies to become reacquainted with the country she left when she was so young. Her writing often explores her identity as a Bissau-Guinean woman and its relationship to Africa and the rest of the world.
She is currently freelancing while documenting her journey towards writing as a main hustle on her blog and podcast, Silk + Water.
